About

Welcome and thank you for visiting my site!

I am a photographer, an educator and a fine artist. I am also a mother to two littles, a wife and an entrepreneur, struggling to find some balance between all the parts of my busy life. My kiddos, Madeleine (my 8 year-old lab assistant) and Miles (my rambunctious 2 and a half year-old) inspire my ongoing photographic project, Hope is the Thing with Feathers, a playful, graphic body of work created in cyanotype dealing with themes of motherhood and   memory.

I first fell in love with the magic of photography using a Fisher Price 110 camera during a 3rd grade field trip. A darkroom class in high school further cemented my fate, allowing me to see the magic through alchemy and light. Changing directions within the medium has allowed me to experience various aspects of photography, moving from photojournalism to studio work and into fine art. Now, I see how each part of those degrees and career paths influences what I create today, something I am grateful for.

Currently, I teach photography at Spokane Falls Community College. I also create and exhibit work across the country, as well as teach workshops in not only alternative processes but bookmaking. It's a full, photographic life.
